What is the Congress ?

The World Computer Congress is the International Federation for Information Processing, IFIP's main global event. The Congress is held every 2 years by a host nation.

The event is the forum for international research and collaboration with industry. The event brings together

industry, community, education, government, technologists and professional associations,

the state, the future, and stewardship

Venue

The venue for the Congress will be the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition centre.

The centre has been independently ranked the 3rd best convention centre in the world.

The centre is walking distance from the city and Southbank Beach.

Supporters

The Australian Computer Society, ACS has been a foundation member of IFIP and has representatives on both the executive and technical committees. The ACS put together the successful bid to host the WCC2010.

Brisbane Marketing &
Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
were both strong supporters of the bid and were instrumental in Brisbane's success in winning the WCC2010. They both continue to support the orgnising committee.
